Poneto

Poneto is a community built up around manufacturing with the majority of both male and female residents working within the manufacturing industry.

The town is also the home of Southern Wells Jr./Sr. High School and Southern Wells Elementary School.

Known for its hard-working community members, the community of Poneto is a community that takes pride in both their work and their values. Indeed, the rural feel of the town allows for a sense of camaraderie and unity among residents, a characteristic not often found in industrialized communities. This can be witnessed in the fact that many Southern Wells graduates eventually return to Poneto to raise their families.

Leading Poneto is an elected 3-member Town Council and an elected clerk-treasurer.
