Growth study meetings set at Southern Wells, Ossian

Two additional public meetings — one in southern Wells County and the other in northern Wells County — have been scheduled next month to discuss Wells County’s recent housing and growth study.

A meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Southern Wells High School at the intersection of Wells County Roads 900S and 300W. Another meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Ossian Elementary School, 213 S. Jefferson St. in Ossian.

The meetings will mirror one held Jan. 24 at Bluffton High School, where about 35 people attended and discussed the issues of housing, growth, and the community’s response. That discussion lasted about 90 minutes.

The original study was released in November and is titled “Housing Assessment and Growth Strategy: Understanding the Future Needs of Housing in Wells County.” The study was put together by Development Concepts Inc. at the request of Wells County Economic Development Director Chad Kline.
